SHIFTING BORDERS
SEPTEMBER 2019
FOUR CORNERS GALLERY
This fast-paced collaborative workshop invited participants to question the notions of shifting borders and boundaries in the world (geographically, politically, historically) and within the photographic medium. Lucas Gabellini-Fava an Victoria Doyle led the workshop in collaboration with Vera Hadzhiyska during her exhibition ‘With the name of a flower’ exploring forced name changes of Bulgarian Muslim population.
The workshop consisted of a brief introduction followed by a hands-on session. Working together, participants had the chance to create images in the space or use their existing photographs, to sequence into a zine forming a conversation around the notions of
shifting borders and boundaries in life and within the photographic medium.
